Ústí nad Labem is located in the heart of the protected landscape area of the Bohemian Central Highlands, which is clearly dominated by the Elbe Valley with the Porta Bohemica, the so-called Gate of Bohemia. The landscape here is typical of the cones of hills of long-extinct volcanoes. A number of viewpoints and lookout towers offer spectacular views of the landscape. The town of Ústí nad Labem lies in the beautiful landscape of the Elbe Valley in the north of the Czech Republic. It is less than 90 km from the capital city of Prague and only 70 km from Dresden, Germany.
